Room size and airflow

Up to 255 m³/h is the strongest purification airflow Meaco publishes for the Arete range, and it suits large rooms — but it does not exceed dedicated high-throughput units such as the Coway Airmega 350 or Veralis AirX Pro AXP-800. This is a 2-in-1 machine: its headline litres-per-day figure describes dehumidification, not air purification. Its purification airflow is the figure to compare against dedicated purifiers, and it is lower than the large dedicated units in our main Top 10.

Filtration

H13 HEPA filtration with a dedicated Air Purification Mode. Meaco sells an optional charcoal filter for the Arete range for odour control. It is an extra purchase and is not included as standard, so budget for it separately if odours are your main concern.

Noise and everyday use

Meaco quotes a dedicated Night Mode at 38 dB with all lights and beeps switched off, and night mode and schedules can be set from the app. As with the rest of the range it is dehumidifier-class rather than sub-20 dB purifier-class.

Running and ownership costs

Meaco quotes running costs from 5p/kWh, based on electricity at 22.36p/kWh, and states that its high fan speed produces over 50% more power for the same energy, reducing laundry drying times. A laundry mode is one of the settings available in the app. Budget for periodic H13 filter replacement, and for the optional charcoal filter if odours matter.

The Arete Two 20L is our pick where a larger home needs both cleaner air and less moisture from one machine: it pairs the range's highest purification airflow with app and voice control. A dedicated large-room purifier still filters more air per hour.
