Room size and airflow
Up to 140 m³/h of purification airflow suits everyday rooms rather than large open-plan spaces. This is a 2-in-1 machine: its headline litres-per-day figure describes dehumidification, not air purification. Its purification airflow is the figure to compare against dedicated purifiers, and it is lower than the large dedicated units in our main Top 10.
Filtration
H13 HEPA filtration with a dedicated Air Purification Mode, so it can be used purely as a purifier. Meaco sells an optional charcoal filter for the Arete range for odour control. It is an extra purchase and is not included as standard, so budget for it separately if odours are your main concern.
Noise and everyday use
Meaco quotes 35, 38 and 44 dB across its fan settings, and a dedicated Night Mode that runs at 35 dB with all lights and beeps switched off. That is quiet for a machine that also dehumidifies, though the quietest dedicated bedroom purifiers start lower, from 18–21 dB.
Running and ownership costs
Meaco quotes running costs from 3p per hour, based on electricity at 22.36p/kWh, and states that its high fan speed produces over 50% more power for the same energy, reducing laundry drying times. App scheduling, timers and a target-humidity setting help you run it only when needed. Factor in periodic H13 filter replacement and, if odours matter, the optional charcoal filter.

For homes facing damp and air quality together, the Arete Two 12L is the most versatile £200 appliance in this guide: H13 HEPA purification, a dedicated purification mode, full dehumidification, and app plus voice control. If air purification alone is your priority, a dedicated purifier such as the Levoit Core 400S moves considerably more air.
